Buses in Singapore

Buses are the best way to get to the parts of Singapore where the metro doesn't reach. That's why two million journeys take place by bus every day!

The two most important of Singapore's bus companies are SBS Transit and SMRT (who also manage the metro). Between the two, the bus network has more than 4,000 vehicles.

Just like on the metro, the buses have strict rules, as you can see!

Night Buses

As well as the day routes, SMRT operates seven night lines (NR). These buses run on Fridays, Saturdays and on public holidays, from 11:30 pm to 2 am.

Schedule

The buses run from 5:30 am to 00:30 am. The frequency varies greatly depending on the line and time of day, but on the main lines at least they are reasonably frequent.

Price

Just like on the metro, the price of the bus varies depending on the distance traveled. The price starts at 1.40 SGD (US$ 1.03) per journey.

To save on transport, take a look at the EZ-Link Card and the Singapore Tourist Pass.
